Community-Based Outpatient Clinic

  

New Clinic BIMing with Ideas

Full-service engineering is currently being provided for a new 15,000 sq. ft. Community-Based Outpatient Clinic constructed adjacent to the existing VA Medical Center at Ft. Meade, MD. Spaces include exam rooms, psychiatric exam, pharmacy, eye suite, audiology suite, nutritionist, laboratory, nurses stations, waiting, and administrative areas.

The building is being designed to Silver LEED Certification criteria. Green features include a geothermal mechanical system with 24.5% energy performance; water reduction of at least 30%; operable low-e glazing windows; three-tier lighting including task, general, and sensors; many thermostats to control thermal comfort; regional and recycled materials; diversion of 75% of construction waste; low emitting materials for building interiors; alternative transportation, bicycle storage, and changing room, and a LEED Education Station.

This project is also being designed using integrated Revit software for Building Information Modeling (BIM).
